Your hire van must be returned on your selected drop-off date by 8:30AM. Need the van later in the day on your return date (e.g. collecting Friday, needed until 1pm Monday)? Book your return date as Tuesday. Still not sure? Please give us a call.

You need a valid drivers licence, proof of address (such as a bank statement or utility bill, which must match the address on your licence and be no older than 60 days), and a credit or debit card for the vehicle deposit. Please call your local office to discuss specific licence requirements.

Yes, all our vans come with comprehensive insurance coverage to ensure your peace of mind during the rental period.
Yes, you can extend your rental period. Please contact our office as soon as possible to check availability and arrange an extension.
We offer a range of van sizes to suit different needs, from small panel vans to large removal vans. Contact us to find the best fit.
Most rentals come with a mileage limit. Additional miles may incur extra charges. Please check the terms when booking.
Vans are provided with a full tank of fuel and should be returned with a full tank. Fuel charges may apply if not returned full.

One-way rentals are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. Please inquire at the time of booking.

We offer discounts for long-term rentals and bulk bookings as well as up to 50% off books made 4 weeks in advance. Contact us to discuss available discounts for your rental.

Yes, you can add an additional driver. It is an extra £5 per driver per day. Any additional drivers must provide all the same documentation as the main driver.

You can collect your hire van from 8:30AM on your start date. Need to arrange a later pick-up?  No worries, just give us a call and we’ll work out a time that suits you. Keep in mind your hire still runs from 8:30am, so your van will be due back by 8:30am on your return date.

Drivers must be at least 21 years old, with a minimum of two years driving experience. Additional charges may apply for drivers under 25.

No vehicles can be taken outside of the UK mainland.

You can book a van online through our website, over the phone, or by visiting one of our locations in person.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing or by email to the relevant branch. Cancellation notifications sent outside normal working hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) shall be deemed sent at the date and time they are opened on the next working day. When notification is more than 72 hrs prior to the commencement of the vehicle rental a refund less 30% will be made. When notification is less than 72hrs but more than 24hrs a refund less 60% will be made. Notification less than 24hrs or failure to show will result in no refund given. Britannia Lanes Self Drive will not refund any unused rental days.

There is a £200 deposit required for 3.5t vans and under, and a £250 deposit for 7.5t vehicles.

Late returns may incur additional charges. If you anticipate being late, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss options.

Some of our vans are equipped with GPS. Please request this feature when booking if you require a van with GPS.
